The Peter Bedford Wellbeing and Support programme is scheme where trained volunteers are matched up with an individual to provide tailored 1-2-1 support to help improve their wellbeing and so they can live a meaningful quality of life. Support will look different for each individual and is intended to build self-confidence and self-esteem, reduce isolation, and improve health and wellbeing. This could look like:
- Support to attend an appointment/activity group
- Help setting and working towards a goal
- A cup of tea and a conversation.
Support can be arranged at a time, date, and location to suit you. We find that the first appointment can be beneficial in one of our hubs or a local café so that it is relaxed, neutral location. Our hubs are in Stoke Newington, Haggerston, and Finsbury Park.
Kingsland Hub – 242 Kingsland Road, Haggerston, London, E8 4DG.
Isledon Canteen – 181A Isledon Road, Finsbury Park, London, N7 7JP
Clissold Hub – 23A Clissold Road, Stoke Newington, London, N16 9EX
Support can also be provided over the telephone/video call, if preferred and beneficial.
This is a free scheme and so it is anticipated to be quite popular. Peter Bedford tenants will need to be prioritised on the waiting list for this. For anyone interested in becoming a Wellbeing and Support volunteer, please also email the same address below including reasons why you are interested.
