Goal Difference
Verified service

Leicester City in the Community has launched a new, free mental health programme for football fans and local adults, called Goal Difference Leicester.

Sessions take place weekly at King Power Stadium, using football themes, stories, and metaphors to help people from all backgrounds address mental health and social challenges in a unique, positive way. The programme is designed to break down barriers and make support accessible, especially for those who may not engage with traditional talking groups.

  • Free weekly sessions at King Power Stadium
  • Starts Tuesday 13th January, running every Tuesday morning for 10 weeks
  • Open to adults who want to improve their mental health
  • Uses evidence-based psycho-social interventions and the Five Ways To Wellbeing (B CALM: Benevolence, Connecting, Activity, Learning, Mindfulness)
  • Topics include stress, self-awareness, positive self-image, and overcoming negative impacts
  • Participants set small personal goals and receive support to achieve them

Why join? The football setting makes it easier for people to open up, build confidence, and connect with others. The programme is welcoming, supportive, and designed to help you take positive steps for your wellbeing.
