Welcome to our Reading, Wokingham and Districts Group
Information About MS
One of the things that people affected by MS want most is accurate and up-to-date information about the condition, living with it and what help is available. We have leaflets about all kinds of issues affecting people with MS, from symptom management to employment issues. We also run information events featuring guest speakers.
Welfare and Support
Our trained support team provides a friendly ear, helps with welfare matters, living with MS and signposting people to other local services.
Financial Support
We provide grants for equipment and adaptations to help people with MS such as scooters, specialist equipment, respite breaks, computers, vocational training, physical activity tasters and furniture or flooring amongst other things.
Regular Newsletters
MSquared produces a fabulous free monthly newsletter packed with information about what is happening socially in the area, articles from the MS Charities nationally and the local MS Therapy Centre in Reading
Social Activities
We have a weekly Drop-in, where people can meet socially, have a meal together, chat, sort out IT problems, have Quiz sessions, Bingo and listen to guest speakers. We arrange tea parties and other social events throughout the year. The carer's group meets regularly for various social events. MSquared also has a social meeting twice a month. Our MUSC Social group meet the last Friday at lunchtime every month for a meal or coffee at various locations around Reading
Volunteers
The Group is run entirely by volunteers and we always welcome anyone who can help us help people affected by MS. If you can spare even a few hours a month, we would love to hear from you. We provide training and support to all our volunteers.
