The Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge Falls Clinic is a multidisciplinary team that assesses and manages falls risk for adults aged over 50 (or younger if medically at risk) who live in Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. The service aims to prevent falls, reduce fall-related injuries and hospital visits, help people stay independent, and educate patients and carers on coping strategies. The team includes a Falls Medical Consultant, Falls Clinic Nurse, Falls Practitioner, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and Integrated Care Assistants. The Physiotherapist runs strength and balance classes (virtual and face-to-face) and assesses strength, balance, gait and mobility, providing mobility aids as needed and advising on strategies to reduce fall risk. The Occupational Therapist assesses the home for risk factors and suggests home modifications and equipment. The team can be contacted via the referral pathway below to access assessment and treatment. How to refer: Complete a Referral Form (SPA) and forward to nelft.haveringreferrals@nelft.nhs.uk.
