Short Term Alcohol Reduction Service (STARS)

Change Grow Live offers a range of projects across Cambridgeshire to support people affected by drugs and alcohol.

Our services are designed to help individuals in recovery, those currently struggling, and their families. We provide community-based support, creative workshops, wellbeing classes, and peer-led groups throughout the county.

• Cambridge Recovery Service: A hub for support groups, wellbeing classes, creative workshops, events, and weekly Recovery Cafes. Open to people in recovery and their friends and family.
• HEaRT Team: Specialist support for people who are homeless and struggling with drugs and/or alcohol in Cambridge.
• Street Outreach Team: We work with rough sleepers over 18 in Cambridge, offering practical help and information about food, showers, clothing, and day centre services. Our team starts early each day to connect people with essential resources.
• The EDGE Café: Community-led recovery cafés in Brookfields and Fulbourn, run by people with lived experience and volunteers. These cafés offer a welcoming space for positive change and connection.
• STARS (Short-Term Alcohol Reduction Support): Five one-to-one support sessions, including a comprehensive assessment, lifestyle exploration, goal setting, and education about alcohol. Sessions are usually held at local GP practices, but virtual appointments are available for convenience.

We welcome anyone seeking support for themselves or someone close to them. Our services are friendly, flexible, and led by people who understand the journey of recovery.
