Medway Health Walks are free, volunteer-led group walks across Medway designed to help adults become more active and improve wellbeing. The walks cater to a range of abilities, with distances and terrains varying from short sessions to longer excursions, all paced by a walk leader. To take part, you only need a comfortable pair of shoes and a level of fitness appropriate to the chosen walk. Walk leaders map the route and guide the group, making the activity sociable and supportive. The program supports Ramblers Wellbeing Walks in Medway and links to the Everyday Active network for information on nearby activities. While the walks are generally suitable for adults, the page notes that they are not necessarily designed for dog walkers due to participants who may need mobility assistance. There is a grading system to help you choose the most suitable walking group, and there are opportunities to become a walk leader if you’re interested in volunteering. The service is a key part of Medway Council’s Get Active offerings and is free of charge.
