RollaRhythms Program:
The RollaRhythms program, supported by Joy's social prescribing platform, is designed to empower girls aged 10-17 from minoritised and/or marginalised groups in North London through music and movement. This initiative focuses on improving participants' mental wellbeing, confidence, and physical activity in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Components:
Learn to Skate: Teaching the basics of roller skating and helping participants develop their skating skills.
Choreography: Creating and teaching synchronized skating routines set to music chosen by the participants.
DJ Workshops: Teaching participants the basics of DJing, music selection, and mixing.
Special Workshops: Including mental health support, healthy eating, and other topics facilitated by Brent Public Health Department.
Access Criteria for RollaRhythms Program:
To ensure that the RollaRhythms program reaches those who will benefit the most, the following criteria apply:
Geographical Location:
Residents of Boroughs of Brent
Age:Girls aged 10-17 years old.
Referral Sources:
Referrals can be made by healthcare professionals, social care workers, community organisations, and self-referrals themselves.
Eligibility:
Girls experiencing social, emotional, or practical issues that affect their health and wellbeing, including:
Mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, depression)
Social isolation or loneliness
Long-term health conditions
Lifestyle-related issues (e.g., diet, exercise)
Financial or housing difficulties
School-related issues (e.g., risk of exclusion, academic support)
