POhWER provides free, independent advocacy services for people in Rutland. Since 2007, our team has supported local residents to have their voices heard and their rights respected when navigating health and social care systems.
We offer a range of advocacy services, including:
- NHS Complaints Advocacy: Support for anyone wishing to make a complaint about NHS-funded treatment.
- Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA): Helping people understand and exercise their rights under the Mental Health Act.
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA): Supporting those who cannot make certain decisions about their lives, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
- Care Act Advocacy: Assisting people to be involved in decisions made by their local council about their care and support.
- Relevant Person's Paid Representative Services (RPPR): We are one of five providers in Rutland; referrals must come via the supervisory body.
How to access support:
- Download referral forms for each service directly from our website.
- If you are unsure about eligibility or need advice, call us on 0300 456 2370 or email us for guidance.
Our advocates are here to help you understand your options, make informed choices, and ensure your wishes are heard. We work with people of all backgrounds and needs, and welcome calls via Relay UK for those with hearing or speech impairments.
All services are free and confidential. For more information, local resources, or to make a referral, visit our website or contact us today.
