Wellbeing Walks is Huntingdonshire's free, friendly, volunteer-led walking programme designed to help people become and stay active while enjoying the outdoors and each other. Walks are run by trained volunteer walk leaders who are first aid trained. Most routes are 3–4 miles and take about an hour; routes are colour-coded to show difficulty and accessibility. Green routes are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users, Orange routes are moderate (30–60 minutes, with a mix of paths, may include stiles), Red routes are more challenging, and Green/Orange or Green/Red combinations offer options. Walks are open to everyone and are free to join, with a suggested voluntary donation to support the scheme if you wish. What you’ll find on the programme: A wide range of local walks across Huntingdonshire, with routes in Huntingdon, St Ives, Ramsey, Yaxley and more. Walks led by volunteers; you can join as a first-time walker or as an ongoing participant. Information on meeting points, what3words meet locations, and route details published on the council site and the One Leisure booking pages. A short health questionnaire to complete before your first walk (to help us plan for your safety). How to access: Booking is encouraged but not essential. You can book via the One Leisure website or app, or by calling 01480 388111. If you already have an online account with One Leisure you’ll need your Member ID and PIN. If you prefer not to book, you can simply turn up on the day; we’ll still welcome you. Cost: Walks are free to join. A voluntary donation of £20 per year per walker is suggested to support the programme, but this is not compulsory. Who can attend: Everyone is welcome, regardless of age or ability. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are allowed on most walks with some exceptions listed in the walk notes. Accessibility: Some walks are fully accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs; the walking routes are colour-coded to help you choose a route that suits you. Organisation and contact: The programme is delivered by Huntingdonshire District Council in partnership with local walking groups and One Leisure. For questions about the Wellbeing Walks, use the contact options on the council site or the One Leisure contact points.
