Havering Museum collects and preserves objects that record the history of the London Borough of Havering, making them accessible to a wide audience through exhibitions, events, activities, and education programmes. The museum tells the story of Havering from pre-history to the present day, celebrating the achievements of local people. It features two permanent galleries exploring local history themes, a temporary exhibition room, and a learning zone. The museum is located at 19-21 High St, Romford, RM1 1JU, and is completely wheelchair accessible. It is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 to 16:30 (last entry to galleries 15:30, last entry to shop 16:00). It is only open on Saturdays when events are taking place, with varying times. Admission is £3 for adults, and children up to 16 years old are free. Group visits (10 or more people) and guided tours are available at £2.00 per person, with tea, coffee, and biscuits available on request.
