Positive East (East London)

Positive East provides comprehensive support and prevention services for people living with and affected by HIV, and offers HIV/STI testing. Services include counselling, workshops, support groups, peer mentoring, benefits and housing advice, immigration advice, complementary therapies (such as yoga and mindfulness), and a dedicated women's project for HIV positive female asylum seekers. Support services are for people living with HIV over 18 in East London, or those receiving HIV care in East London. HIV/STI testing is available to anyone over 18. Services are delivered in-person at their main office (The Mark Ashley Centre, 159 Mile End Road, Stepney, London E1 4AQ), at various HIV treatment centres (including The Royal London, Newham General, Sir Ludwig Guttman Centre, and Outpatients East at Barking Hospital), and through community-based outreach across East London. HIV/STI testing clinics are available on weekends. Services are also accessible by phone and email. Face-to-face meetings are by appointment. Areas covered for support services include the East London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, City of London, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest.
