The Green Doctor service by Groundwork Five Counties offers free energy assessments and practical advice to residents across the East Midlands, including Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Trained energy-efficiency experts provide free home visits to help households reduce energy waste, manage bills, and tackle fuel debt. They can assist if you are concerned about a cold, damp, or draughty home, struggling with heating costs, or have health conditions affected by your living environment. Support includes impartial advice, energy-saving measures (like radiator foil and LED bulbs), and help accessing other services such as debt and mental health support, emergency food, or fuel. The service is free for people of any age and background, whether you own, rent, or are a social housing tenant. To access support, sign up online or contact them via email at gwfcgreendoctor@groundwork.org.uk or call 0115 9788212 (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm). British Sign Language (BSL) is available for home visits in Derby and Nottingham.
