Positive East Health & Wellbeing Support for People with HIV (East London)

Positive East offers a holistic range of health and wellbeing services to support people living with HIV to live as well as possible. Services include counselling, social and support groups, creative activities, workshops, courses, peer support, peer mentoring, and befriending. Specialist advice is available for housing, benefits, and immigration. HIV/STI testing and prevention services are also provided. The service is for people living with HIV over the age of 18, or those receiving HIV care in East London. HIV testing is open to all. Services are delivered in-person at their main centre (The Mark Ashley Centre, 159 Mile End Road, London E1 4AQ), at various HIV treatment centres (The Royal London, Newham General, Sir Ludwig Guttman Centre, Outpatients East at Barking Hospital), by telephone, and through community-based testing sites. Face-to-face meetings are by appointment. Befriending is provided via regular telephone conversations. The service primarily covers the East London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, City of London, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest.
