Join KHWP's practical conservation volunteering programme in Tunbridge Wells!
Our volunteer programme runs every Wednesday and Thursday, all year round, across various sites in and around the Tunbridge Wells area. Anyone over 16 is welcome—no experience or training required. Under 16s can join if accompanied by an adult.
What you'll do:
- Seasonal tasks such as coppicing, hedge laying, tree planting, and woodland management in winter
- Survey work, meadow management, fencing, and step/boardwalk construction in summer
- And much more!
Session details:
- Task days run from 10am to 3pm
- Tea and lunch breaks included
What to bring:
- Old clothes and sturdy footwear (steel toe capped boots available to borrow—please request in advance)
- Packed lunch and water bottle
- Weather-appropriate clothing (waterproofs in winter, hats in summer)
We provide:
- All tools, gloves, and training from qualified countryside staff
- Tea, coffee, and biscuits
- Outdoor first aid trained staff
