Advocacy for All provides a range of free, independent, and confidential advocacy services for people living in the London Borough of Sutton. Our goal is to empower individuals to have their voices heard, understand their rights, and access the support they need.
We offer several types of advocacy, including:
- Care Act Advocacy: Supporting people to get the outcomes they need under the Care Act 2014. Note: This service is available only via referral from a professional (e.g., social worker).
- Health Complaints Advocacy: Helping you make complaints about any aspect of NHS care or treatment. This service is free, independent, and confidential.
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA): Supporting people who lack capacity to make certain decisions, ensuring their rights are protected under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Mental Health Advocacy: Providing Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) for people in Sutton, helping you understand your rights and have your say in your care and treatment.
- Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR): Ensuring the conditions of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) authorisations are met and taking action if needed.
- Self-Advocacy Groups: We run two groups in Sutton for people with learning disabilities: Speak Up Sutton (for adults) and Action Voices (for young people aged 12–25). These groups offer a safe space to share experiences, build confidence, and campaign for change.
All our services are designed to be accessible and inclusive. We welcome adults and young people who need support to have their voices heard, especially those with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or who are facing complex life challenges.
How to access our services:
- Referrals for advocacy can be made by professionals or individuals. Some services (e.g., Care Act Advocacy) require a professional referral.
- Group participation enquiries and referrals are welcome for both adults and young people in Sutton.
- All services are free of charge for eligible Sutton residents.
