The Thanet Community Hub, run by Forward Trust, offers a comprehensive range of alcohol and substance use interventions for adults living in the Thanet area.

Our specialist service centre in Margate, along with community-based clinics in Ramsgate and Broadstairs, provides tailored drug and alcohol treatment packages. Our dedicated team of professionals works with you to find the most appropriate treatment options for your needs.

Services include:

  • One-to-one and group support
  • Community Rehabilitation Day Programme for structured abstinence support
  • Health checks and blood-borne virus testing (including Hepatitis C)
  • Detox assistance
  • Outreach for homeless and rough sleeping clients
  • Criminal Justice provision
  • Medication assisted treatment
  • Harm reduction advice and take-home naloxone
  • Needle exchanges
  • Peer support from those with lived experience
  • Ongoing Recovery Support

Who can access our services?

  • Adults aged 18+
  • Residents of Margate, Thanet, or surrounding areas
  • Anyone affected by drugs and/or alcohol, including those impacted by a loved one's substance use

How to access:

  • Self-referral for individuals concerned about their own drug/alcohol use
  • Professional referral for practitioners or health professionals
  • Criminal justice referral for those working in the justice system

Service access criteria:

Are aged 18+; and
Live in Margate, Thanet or the surrounding area; and
Have issues with drugs and/or alcohol or are impacted by the drug/alcohol use of a loved one (even if that loved one is not ready to get support themselves)

We are unable to accept referrals for people from friends and family members if the person being referred does not give their consent.
