Health Work Life Occupational Therapy offers specialist occupational therapy services for adults of working age and young adults in secondary or higher education. Our service is designed for those who are currently employed (including those off sick), seeking a return to work after long-term absence or career break, or experiencing long-term or multiple conditions that significantly impact their ability to function at work or in education.
We support individuals with a wide range of conditions, including neurodivergent conditions, mental health challenges, chronic fatigue, long Covid, chronic pain, stress, and burnout. Many of our clients also face challenging home or social situations, including past or ongoing trauma.

How to access our service:
- Individuals can self-refer and fund their own assessment and treatment. The number of follow-up sessions is agreed at assessment.
- Employers can refer and fund assessment and treatment for staff. The number of follow-up sessions is agreed at assessment.

What to expect:
- Prompt communication—referrals are responded to within 3 working days.
- High-quality, holistic assessment focused on your challenges, strengths, and goals.
- A comprehensive occupational therapy formulation report with recommendations.
- An agreed number of follow-up sessions (typically 4-6, tailored to individual need), which may include coaching, workplace assessment, return to work planning, wellness/recovery action planning, skills development, and workplace adaptations.
- Clear, transparent pricing—any recommendations that incur extra costs (e.g., equipment) will be communicated clearly.
How is the service delivered?
- Initial assessment via video call (TEAMS).
- In-person assessments at your workplace or home can be arranged by exception.
- Follow-up sessions are typically delivered via TEAMS, with location and number agreed individually.
