Support and Befriending

HOPe New Forest is a local charity dedicated to improving the wellbeing of older people in the New Forest area.

We offer free, impartial advice and information on matters affecting older people, helping you navigate challenges and access the support you need.

Our befriending service is designed to tackle loneliness and isolation, connecting older people with friendly volunteers for regular companionship and conversation.

  • Support: Get help with issues affecting older people, including advice and information.
  • Befriending: Enjoy regular contact with a volunteer who cares.
  • Charity Shops: Visit our shops in New Milton and Ringwood to find bargains and support our work.

Whether you need support, want to volunteer, or are looking to donate, HOPe New Forest is here to help you make a positive impact in your community.

All services are free of charge and available to older people living in the New Forest area.

We generally define our target audience as those over state pension age, and living in the Western New Forest (Lymington/Brockenhurst to Ringwood/Fordingbridge)
