WorkWell is a joint scheme from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC). The aim is to connect people with health conditions and/or disabilities to local support services so they can get tailored help to stay in or return to work. It provides an early-intervention work and health assessment and a light-touch, low-intensity support service. It will provide tailored help addressing work and health needs and overcoming barriers to work. People can access general help, support, information, guidance and connections to services via the telephone, and can receive additional face-to-face work and health coaching if required. It is a prevention service aimed at supporting those most recently out of work due to sickness to return to work, or those in work who are at risk of being signed off sick. You can refer yourself or someone else by either calling your GP surgery and requesting a referral, or via PCN referral forms linked on the page. PCNs in Worcestershire and Herefordshire are listed with referral forms; a local WorkWell coach will reach out. WorkWell is accessible to anyone registered with a GP in Herefordshire or Worcestershire. For queries, contact Worcestershire: hwicb.workwell@nhs.net; Herefordshire: Thl.workwell@nhs.net, or call 01432 262668. There is also a Return to Work Form and information for employers on how to support their workforce.
