Movement not Meds

Who is this for? Individuals 11 years and older with underlying health conditions including long covid, high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, anxiety or depression (including post-natal) or osteoarthritis from low-income families. Individuals can self-refer and/or be referred by GP practices in Gravesend to register for the Movement Not Meds programme.

 individuals will be prescribed a four-month block of activity including: 

an initial consultation reviewing diet and exercise and taking key measurements, 

a programme write with exercise and diet advice, 

access to regular low impact activity classes with a group of familiar people and instructors to provide motivation and accountability, 

further access to exercise and cycling facilities to use outside these classes, 

a monthly review consultation of diet and exercise, 

Each individual would be 'discharged' after four months with an on-going plan and follow up consultation after 10 weeks to monitor and be held accountable.
