Headway Black Country’s Life Skills Service is designed for individuals affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and stroke. We offer structured sessions Monday to Friday at our Dudley and Willenhall centres, providing consistent support and guidance to help clients adjust to life changes, regain independence, and re-learn essential skills.
Our approach is holistic and person-centred. We focus on enhancing cognitive and social abilities to aid community reintegration. Activities include:
- Cognitive Skills Sessions
- Social Interaction Sessions
- Creative Art and Expression
- Communication Skills Sessions
- Computer Skills & Strategies
- Interactive Music
- Recreation
- Daily Living Skills
Each session encourages practical learning and fosters meaningful personal growth. Refreshment breaks offer supervised opportunities for social interaction and peer support, helping to build a sense of community.
Personalised support is at the heart of our service. Clients work closely with keyworkers to identify personal goals and track progress throughout the year. Regular reviews ensure that goals remain relevant and clients stay motivated as their needs evolve.
Our group sessions promote teamwork, mutual encouragement, and confidence-building in a safe, supportive atmosphere. We empower participants to explore their potential and face new challenges.
We are committed to helping individuals impacted by brain injuries live fulfilling, independent lives. By focusing on practical strategies and personal empowerment, we enable clients to rebuild their confidence and reintegrate into their communities with greater ease. Emotional well-being and skill development are at the core of every session.
