Papyrus - Prevention of Young Suicide

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to preventing suicide and promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people under 35. We believe that no young person should have to struggle alone with thoughts of suicide.

HOPELINE247 is our free, confidential suicide prevention helpline, available 24/7 via phone, text, email, and webchat. Our trained advisers offer non-judgmental support to young people, concerned others, and professionals, helping you talk openly about suicidal thoughts and find practical ways to stay safe.

  • Support for young people under 35 experiencing thoughts of suicide
  • Advice for anyone concerned about a young person who may be at risk
  • Resources including coping techniques, conversation starters, distraction techniques, and guidance for parents and professionals
  • Digital safety planning via our secure HOPELINK platform, accessible 24/7
  • Education and training for individuals, schools, and communities to help create suicide-safer environments

We also offer fundraising opportunities, volunteer roles, and a range of training sessions to equip communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress.

All services are free and confidential. You can contact HOPELINE247 at any time for support, advice, or just someone to talk to.
