BOOST helps older people understand what social options are available in their local area and provides short-term support to try them out. It’s ideal for older people who want to reconnect with their local community, especially if you’re feeling isolated or lonely. What you get: a personalised plan to explore hobbies and groups, help making a few calls to clubs or groups, and, if helpful, a volunteer to accompany you to a first activity. The aim is to reduce loneliness, build confidence, and help you create a sustainable social network. We also develop a bespoke resource base of local activities to benefit BOOST users. How to access: to find out more or to make a referral, call the BOOST team on 01296 431911, or download and complete the referral form and email it to boost@ageukbucks.org.uk. You can also post your form to BOOST, Age UK Buckinghamshire, 145 Meadowcroft, Aylesbury HP19 9HH. Cost: Free. Coverage: Buckinghamshire only (Milton Keynes is not included).
