
Open Door has been at the heart of the Exmouth community for three decades. Originally a homeless drop-in service, Open Door has developed into a multi-service charity, that provides welcoming spaces and support across the age groups including:
Community Hub
The Community Hub provides a Community Café on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9.30am-3pm offering low-cost meals. Free meals are available through support services to those in need and we can provide free meals to children and young people during the school holidays. Trained support workers are available for 1:1 help and advice. Laundry and shower facilities are available for support clients during café mornings.
The Community Hub also offers:
- Community Fridge and Larder
- Parent Hub Café and Baby Bank (Thursdays 10-12.30pm termtime)
- Craft Café (Tuesdays 10-12.30pm)
- Toast Youth Café (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3.30-5.30pm termtime)
Men's Shed
Men's Shed provides men with a safe and friendly space to to learn and share skills together. Shoulder-to-shoulder support is available as well as opportunities to work on community projects.
Men's Shed: 10am-4pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays behind Clayton House, Littleham.
Community Craft Room
The Community Craft Room provides men and women with a welcoming and supportive environment to learn and share a variety of craft skills. Individuals can bring their own projects or turn up and try something new.
Craft Room: 10am-3.30pm Wednesdays at the Old Gospel Hall, Hamilton Road
Haven
Haven is based in Exmouth Community College and provides mental health & emotional wellbeing support for 11-15 year olds including:
- 1:1 Mentoring and Group Sessions
- Lunchtime 'Safe Space' Hub
- Enhanced Transition Support for Year 6 young people
Referrals for Haven need to come via Exmouth Community College
