Through our Direct Payments Support Service, Mosaic 1898 has been enabling people to manage their own care and support arrangements since 2000. The service combines specialist knowledge and personalised guidance to help individuals use their Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget with confidence, ensuring choice, control, and compliance are at the heart of every arrangement.
About the Service
The Direct Payments Support Service (DPSS) at Mosaic 1898 provides information, advice, and practical support to disabled people, carers, and representatives who receive or are eligible for a Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget.
The service enables individuals to manage their care and support arrangements with confidence, offering tailored assistance that promotes independence, choice, and control. With over two decades of experience, DPSS works in partnership with local authorities, health commissioners, and people accessing services across Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and beyond.
Service Offer
DPSS provides a comprehensive range of support, including:
Advice and Information: Guidance on using a Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget, understanding responsibilities, and exploring support options and sourcing care support.
PA Recruitment and Employment Support: Assistance with advertising, shortlisting, access to DBS checks, and understanding employment responsibilities.
Payroll Management: Administration of payroll for people employing Personal Assistants or care staff, including wage calculations, payslips, HMRC submissions, and pension processing.
Managed Accounts: Secure management of Direct Payment funds on behalf of service users, ensuring timely payments to employees and agencies and maintaining accurate records.
Ongoing Support: Regular advice and reviews to ensure arrangements remain effective and compliant.
Who Can Access the Service
The Direct Payments Support Service is available to adults in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland who receive or are assessed as eligible for a Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget. Referrals can be made by local authorities, NHS Personal Health Budget teams, or through self-referral.
