Middlesbrough Council provides environmental health and environmental issue support for people and organisations in Middlesbrough. The service covers local concerns such as pollution, unsafe or nuisance properties, street problems, animal issues and workplace health and safety risks.
- Get help with pollution concerns, including air quality, light, noise, odours, smoke and burning.
- Raise concerns about houses and buildings, including asbestos, waste build-up, damp and mould, empty properties, and insecure or eyesore properties.
- Get support with street and public area issues such as fly tipping, graffiti, litter, dog waste, needles, abandoned vehicles and pests in public places.
- Environmental Health Officers and Food Safety Officers visit food businesses to check food safety, hygiene standards, labelling and composition.
- Health and safety officers investigate serious workplace complaints, accidents, dangerous occurrences and work-related diseases.
