NEBS offers Befriending and Pet Therapy services across Durham and the North East of England. Our mission is to help adults facing loneliness, isolation, mental health challenges, disabilities, dementia, strokes, and complex health needs.
Befriending: Our friendly male and female befrienders provide one-to-one companionship and support, helping people feel more connected and less isolated. Support packages are available for a minimum of two hours and can be tailored for long-term, ongoing support.
- Companionship and social interaction
- Support for those with disabilities, dementia, and mental health needs
- Flexible, lifetime service options
Pet Therapy: Our pet therapy sessions, delivered one-to-one or in groups, use the calming presence of animals to improve self-worth, communication, social skills, self-esteem, trust, and respect. Pet therapy is especially helpful for those dealing with phobias, anxiety, and stress.
- Therapeutic animal visits for care homes, workplaces, schools, and universities
- Support for overcoming phobias and reducing anxiety
- Enhancing mood and stimulating social interaction
We also offer practical help such as cleaning, taxi services, and removals to ease everyday burdens.
How to access: We provide assessments and home visits before support begins. Services can be booked directly, and we are always happy to discuss your needs and tailor our support.
Testimonials: NEBS is highly recommended by clients, clinicians, and organisations for our professionalism, compassion, and positive impact. Our work has been featured in local news and recognised by partners such as Amazon UK and Avetta.
