Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses are here to support anyone affected by dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, and frontotemporal dementia.
Our specialist nurses offer free, confidential advice and emotional support to families, carers, and individuals living with dementia. Whether you need practical tips for caring, compassionate guidance, or help planning for the future, our Admiral Nurses are a lifeline.
- Dementia Helpline: Speak directly to a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse for information, advice, and support with any aspect of dementia. The helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am-9pm, and weekends/bank holidays 9am-5pm (closed 25th December).
- Virtual Clinic Appointments: Book a free, confidential 45-minute phone or video appointment with an Admiral Nurse to discuss non-urgent questions or concerns. Family members are welcome to join. Appointments available Monday-Wednesday 9am-7pm, Thursday-Friday 9am-4pm, Saturday 10am-4pm. Evening and weekend appointments are by video call only.
- Face-to-Face Appointments: Meet an Admiral Nurse in person at selected Nationwide branches across the UK. Appointments are free, confidential, and held in a private space. You do not need to be a Nationwide customer. Family members can join you.
- Online Information Sessions: Our ‘Dementia: what next?’ series helps you learn more about dementia and the next steps after a diagnosis. Hosted by Admiral Nurses, these sessions cover frequently asked topics and allow you to ask questions via chat or simply listen.
All services are free of charge and available to anyone affected by dementia, including carers and family members.
