Adult Community Company
We run a lively group for adults with a keen interest in theatre who want to learn new skills, find out more about how we make productions, make friends and have fun. Within the sessions you'll get a chance to devise original work, write scripts, explore different theatrical techniques and devlop performance skills.
No previous experience of performance or involvement in the arts is necessary - just a sense of curiosity!
Sessions take place on Friday mornings between 12:30PM - 3:30PM at the Orange Tree Theatre.
This Autumn, we are running 3 additional drop-in sessions. These are for those who are interested in joining the Adult Company, as well as existing members! Please note these run from 12:30PM - 2:30PM on the Fridays before term starts.
1st September – Artistic Director Tom Littler will do a talk, Q&A and small scene exploration focussing on the upcoming Main House production of She Stoops to Conquer.
8th September – Community Director Francesca Ellis (our resident Shakespeare expert) will do deep exploration of Shakespeare speeches and scenes, activating the text with rehearsal room techniques from a range of Shakespearean directors, practitioners and voice specialists.
15th September – Facilitator Mais Robinson will do a workshop exploration of the interaction between story structure and political theatre, through the lens of forum theatre or Greek chorus.
When booking for the 10-week Term, please select September 22nd on the drop-down options.
The masterclasses are single session bookings as they are drop-in. Therefore, if you would like to join the Masterclasses, please book the date(s) you would like separately to each other and the term booking on the drop-down options. If you would like to book onto the whole term and all three Masterclasses, for example, select September 1st, September 8th, September 15th and September 22nd and go through the booking process each time. You could also just book 1 or 2 Masterclasses by selecting the appropriate dates.
