Bonterre Rural Skills and Social Group

Bonterre CIC works to support education and wellbeing through providing nature-based learning and outdoor activities on a farm just outside Worcester. We run skills workshops, events, regular groups for children and adults, and volunteering opportunities throughout the year.

Starting on 17th February, we’ll be running a weekly Rural Skills and Social Group on Monday afternoons from 3pm – 5pm, free to join for adults of any age.

Spending time outside in nature, learning new skills and exploring new interests and creative activities has huge benefits for our mental wellbeing. Our sessions are aimed at supporting anyone that would benefit from spending time in a relaxed group setting, building their confidence and connecting with other like-minded people in their community. Each month we’ll have activities following different themes, all based around learning more about nature and the outdoors.

We’ll be exploring how to grow your own vegetables, having a go at some bushcraft skills, working with animals, and getting creative with flowers, woodwork projects and willow weaving. At least one of the session activities each week will be designed to be accessible for adults of all ages and physical abilities. There’ll also be plenty of time for a sit down, a chat and a cup of tea.

The sessions are very relaxed, and people can join the programme at any time with no commitment week to week. We'd just ask if people can drop us a message if they'd like to come along, to help us in planning activities.
