Wellbeing Walks are short, sociable group walks led by friendly, trained leaders who provide encouragement and support. These walks are open to everyone, regardless of age, fitness, or ability, and especially welcome those who are less active or may be facing a mental health challenge.
Why join a Wellbeing Walk?
- Walking is a gentle form of exercise, making it an excellent choice for those who find staying physically fit a challenge.
- Wellbeing Walks offer opportunities to meet other people from your community, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation.
- Being outside in nature is great for your mental health.
What to Expect:
- Walks are led by trained leaders and are open to adults of any age, fitness, or ability. Many walks are aimed at those who are less active.
- Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes and shoes, and bring water to drink.
- The leader meets the group at the designated start point and everyone sets off together, walking at a steady pace so no one gets left behind.
- Many people chat during the walk, but it's also fine to simply enjoy the movement and views. Some groups may go for coffee afterwards (varies by location).
Locations & Times: Walks take place at different locations across Peterborough every day except Sundays, lasting 40–90 minutes. All starting points have parking and many are accessible by foot or public transport.
How to Join: You must register with The Ramblers via their website before your first walk. Registration is free, quick, and easy, and allows you to join walks anywhere in the UK.
Cost: All Wellbeing Walks are free to join.
