Sight Loss Advice across Wiltshire

Supporting People with Sight Loss in Wiltshire and Swindon

We provide a wide range of services for anyone living with sight loss across Wiltshire and Swindon. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, offering support in person or at local hubs.

Appointments and Advice

Meet with our Community Sight Loss Advisors at our resource centres in Devizes and Salisbury or one of our local monthly sight loss advice hubs. During your appointment, your Advisor can demonstrate daily living aids and equipment that support independence. They can also help with:

  • Suggesting ways to manage at home with sight loss.
  • Explaining your eye condition and the registration and certification of your sight loss.
  • Offering advice on how to continue to read.
  • Providing guidance on getting out and about and maintaining independence.
  • Supporting and advising on the use of everyday gadgets such as mobiles and tablets
  • Introducing specialist electronic magnification equipment.
  • Informing you about local and online social opportunities.
  • Keeping you up-to-date with services like our bi-annual magazine, monthly e-newsletter, and upcoming events.
  • Connecting you with other organisations that can offer additional help.

Additional Services

We also host social groups and provide various other services, including:

  • A free audio CD library
  • Monthly e-newsletters and bi-annual magazines
  • "Eye Can" exhibitions, showcasing the latest technology and services twice a year at key locations across the area

Whether you need practical advice, social opportunities, or access to the latest equipment, we are here to help you live independently and stay connected.

Volunteer With Us

We are always looking for friendly and dedicated people to join our team of volunteers. Whatever skills and experience you have, we’d love to hear from you.  We have a wide range of volunteer roles available, including office roles, befrienders, fundraisers and designers.

Accessibility is of course very important to us.  We are really happy to discuss how to make any volunteer role accessible to you. We can provide training if you’re looking to develop new skills.  And of course, there will be lots of support from our friendly team.
