Community Charged Energy Champions are members of the community who have been trained to give out support and advice to those struggling with their energy bills. Energy Champions attend community events, local school coffee mornings, foodbanks and more to give guidance and energy saving tips to those in Newham who need help. The Energy Champions can also refer Newham residents to Groundwork London's Green Doctors who can give more in-depth energy advice, support with understanding bills and managing debt, and fit practical energy saving measures such as draft-exclusion or energy saving lightbulbs. Everything offered on the programme is completely free.
Community Charged Energy Champions are available to attend events across the borough of Newham to support people who may be struggling and make referrals to the Green Doctors.
Advice and support is open to all Newham residents. Additional support is given to those who are/have someone in their home who has; a disability, health issues, is in receipt of benefits, on a lower income, or in emergency accommodation.
Unfortunately we cannot offer the service to those outside of Newham.
