Dementia and Me

Dementia and Me Support Service - Ashford is a free service provided by Age UK Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford, designed to empower people living with dementia and their families.

If you have been diagnosed with dementia, or you are supporting a friend or family member, we are here to help you continue living your chosen lifestyle. Our team will work with you to understand your needs and aspirations, help you make plans for the future, and support you in achieving your goals.

  • Personalised support plans: We will help you create an individual support plan tailored to your needs and wishes.
  • Flexible meetings: We can meet with you at your home, at our centre, or wherever you feel comfortable. Support is also available by phone or email.
  • Information and advice: We help you understand your diagnosis and signpost you to the right support and services.
  • Emotional support: Our helpline offers immediate advice and support for people living with dementia and their carers, including crisis support and referrals to specialist services.
  • Safety resources: We support the use of the Herbert Protocol, a free tool to help keep people with dementia safe if they go missing. We can assist you in completing the form.

Cost: This service is free to access.

Urgent support: The Dementia and Me helpline is available Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (Heart of Kent Hospice), and out of hours (Mental Health Matters) on 0800 500 3014.

Location: Farrow Court, Stanhope Road, Ashford, TN23 5RF. Service is only available within the Age UK Hythe, Lyminge & Ashford catchment area.

This service is available to people living with dementia and their family or carers within the Age UK Hythe, Lyminge & Ashford catchment area. Contact us by email or phone to get started. We will take your details and connect you with the right team member. Meetings can be arranged at your home, another comfortable location, or remotely by phone or email. This service is free of charge.
