Kingsbridge Library

Kingsbridge Library serves the market town of Kingsbridge and the many surrounding villages. It is located near the main car park and bus station, with easy level access.

The library is open five days a week and there is a bright and cheerful children’s library and an area for teens. In addition to books, DVDs and audiobooks there are additional services available:

Reading Group

Reading groups are a wonderful way of sharing the love of reading and inspiring people to try something a bit different. Kingsbridge library offers a friendly group to chat about books and try something different:

  • A group library card
  • Nearly 600 reading group book sets to choose from
  • 8 week loans
  • Meetings once a month in the library

Free Legal Clinic

We run a free legal advice service where anyone from the area can speak to a professional from Start Point Law on the second Tuesday of every month. After being referred, a member of the Kingsbridge team will reach out and book an appointment for this service. Currently walk-ins are not available. 

Knitting Bee

Knitting provides many physical and mental health benefits. At Kingsbridge Library we have a friendly group that meet every Monday 1.30 - 3pm, with all levels of proficiency - from just learning to advanced. 

Family History Helpdesk

Tracing your ancestors, locally and worldwide, can be so fascinating and quite addictive!  Each month, a member of the Devon Family History Society is available to help with research. By appointment only.

Raspberry Pi Club for Adults.

Have fun learning about computer coding. All abilities. All materials provided.

Library Stitchers

This friendly and supportive group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, 6-8pm, working on individual or group projects. All sorts of types of stitching, including patchwork, embroidery, cross stitch etc.

Bounce & Rhyme

Songs and action rhymes for under-5s and their carers, each Friday at 11am. This activity helps to develop speech and language skills and is a great social occasion for both adults and children. 

Story Time

Stories for pre-school children, helping to develop social, listening and literacy skills. Each Monday at 10.30am.
