Shropshire Digital Skills Programme

Computer Skills for All is a free digital support programme for Shropshire residents, designed to help people build confidence and skills in using computers and the internet. Whether you’re a complete beginner or want to improve your digital know-how, our friendly, council-funded learning hubs offer one-to-one support from tech-savvy volunteers in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

What we offer:

  • Free one-to-one digital skills support at local libraries and community centres across Shropshire
  • Access to a limited number of free devices and internet connectivity for those unable to afford their own
  • Online courses to learn digital skills and stay safe online via the Learn My Way platform
  • Specialist support for people with disabilities, health conditions, or visual impairment
  • Encouragement and guidance from patient, knowledgeable volunteers

Who can access this service?

  • People over 65 years
  • Those living alone
  • Anyone in receipt of a means-tested benefit or on a low income
  • Unpaid carers for friends or family members
  • People receiving paid or unpaid care
  • Individuals with a disability or health condition

Support is available at a range of locations, including Shropshire Libraries and other council-funded organisations such as Qube in Oswestry, Mayfair Community Centre in Church Stretton, 4 All Foundation, G.O.A.L. in Wem, Barnabas Community Projects, The Roy Fletcher Centre, BizEd Projects, Enterprise House, Enable, Taking Part, and Sight Loss Shropshire.

Service access criteria:

People most in need can access this free programme, and to be eligible, one or more of the following criteria must apply: 
Be over 65 years 
Live alone 
Be in receipt of a means-tested benefit or on a low income 
Provide unpaid care for a friend or family member who can’t manage without your help 
Receiving paid or unpaid care 
Have a disability or health condition
