Age UK - Community Wardens

At Age UK, we're here to help. We believe No One Should Have No One. We offer practical support and help to make social connections to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.

Community Warden Services assists older people to continue to live independently at home by providing daily contact (Monday to Friday) and support, either by a personal visit or telephone call, to ensure a sense of security and wellbeing

This service can help with:

  • Listening to your concerns and linking you to helpful information and guidance
  • Advice on other local community services
  • Small items of shopping
  • Collecting prescriptions
  • Reading post
  • Making phone calls on your behalf, if requested
  • Ensuring your safety and wellbeing
  • Funding

A small charge of £9 per week single person and £11 for a couple. The service is funded by various local agreements.

Service access criteria: Normally the service is for people aged 60+ or caring for someone who is 60+ in Cambridge and Peterborough
