Wellbeing Programme based at Slapton Ley Field Centre

South Hams Area Wellbeing are joining with FSC Slapton Ley to provide a free 3 week Wellbeing Programme, aiming to connect you with nature. These sessions will be held from Thursday 12th August 2021, 10am - midday. These sessions will be held at the Field Centre and are aimed at those with limited mobility, but who will still like to learn more about the natural environment around them.

By taking part in this programme, a tutor from the Field Centre will lead the group in sessions where you will learn about and discover more about the Ley, and in turn connect with nature and improve your wellbeing.

The aim of this programme is to help with a variety of mental health conditions by enabling engagement with the natural environment and discovering the benefits that this can bring to health and wellbeing.

You can self refer if you feel this programme would be helpful to you, especially if you are coping with anxiety and depression, or if you have been recommended physical and mental activity, are experiencing loneliness. You can also be referred via your GP or practice staff, or from other organisations.

Sessions will be held outside, but if the weather is inclement, the centre has the facilities to deliver the course indoors, adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

Please note, all the sessions are free. If travel to the field centre is a concern please contact Helen Hamilton, Community Builder at SHAW, to discuss this, as there may be some funding available to assist.
