Friendship Groups

The Link Visiting Scheme is the only charity in the Wokingham Borough are exclusively focussed on addressing loneliness and social isolation amongst older people.  We have a unique understanding of the root causes and impacts of loneliness, and how to tackle them.

We aim to link small groups of people with volunteers in a group setting, taking care to ensure the group has bonded and with the hope that they will become more adventurous and go on day trips and outings.

Through Friendship Groups we expect to reduce social isolation and re-engage older people with the wider community.

Friendship Groups will also provide a valuable network for Volunteers and will reduce the costs of other services within the community.
