CCB Family Fuel and Water Poverty Project

Connecting Communities in Berkshire (CCB) is an independent community development charity covering the whole of Berkshire.

The CCB Family Fuel and Water Poverty Project tackles fuel and water poverty in low-income families, giving them the skills and confidence they need to save money on their energy and water bills. Helen Dean, is the project co-ordinator for this project, and has been deleivering fuel poverty projects for the past 10 years.

Project delivery is through:

- attending groups to give a talk, or give 1:1 advice to families, such as toddler groups, targeted groups for families receiving

support

- giving bespoke telephone advice to low-income families on all aspects of reducing home energy and water costs, mentoring families to take action for themselves

- Training for frontline workers on the advice and support they can cascade to the vulnerable families they support. This can be short 15 minute training on discounts that low-income families can train, to a full training session delivered in person or via Zoom. Helen has provided training to Family Support Workers, Social Workers, Health Visitors, Social Prescribers, and other proffessionals and practitioners supporting families

To refer families, email Helen on helen.dean@ccberks.org.uk, gving the family's details, telephone number, email, and any useful information
