Disabled Facilites

These grants can be used to make changes to your home to help a disabled person live independently, safely and with dignity

Disabled Facilities Grants are available to homeowners, owners of qualifying houseboats, owners of qualifying park homes, tenants of private landlords and tenants of housing associations.  Grants are also available for adaptations to the common parts of shared buildings.

Community-led housing

Housing which is built or brought back into use by local people.

  • Projects are genuinely understood and supported by the community
  • Homes are owned or managed by people in the community
  • Benefits to the local community are legally protected in perpetuity (i.e. forever)

Affordable warmth

The six Cumbrian district councils are working together to deliver energy efficiency measures to households with an income of less than £30,000 per year.
