Our aim is to share the sport of sailing with people who have a wide range and degree of disability, through recreation, training and racing, towards the limits of individual aspirations from beginners to elite. We have over 25 years experience facilitating safe sailing, everyone is a member with ages from 7 to 87 years.
We offer this opportunity to encourage involvement in an activity from which many believe they may be excluded.
Rutland Sailability is disability friendly with wheelchair ramps, a lift, golf buggy and a fully fitted disabled changing facility. We provide accessible boats and equipment including hoists, designed specifically for enabling easy access into a boat.
We operate within a fully accessible venue with the support of a great team of friendly, experienced able-bodied volunteers.
All of our volunteers are fully trained in all aspects whether sailing, on shore support, or admin support. Many of our sailing volunteers are fully qualified RYA Instructors.
As a charity and a members only club we charge a nominal annual sailing fee which is available on request. Carers/supporters/parents are free of charge.
We operate all day Thursdays for all members and Saturday mornings for our youth members under 18.

We operate within Rutland Sailing Club which is a fully accessible venue. Our boats are designed specifically for disabled sailing, all of which we operate with a qualified helm in our smaller boats and helm with a crew member in our bigger boats.
Our volunteers, whether sailors or shore based non sailors are trained to enable full accessible sailing in all areas and for all disabilities. We have no boundaries.
