At SSHC, we understand that a life-changing diagnosis like HIV can bring up complex emotions, not just for the person diagnosed, but also for their loved ones. Our compassionate and experienced counsellors are here to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals diagnosed with HIV and their friends and family to:
- Process your emotions: Work through feelings of shock, fear, sadness, or anger related to the diagnosis.
- Cope with challenges: Develop strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other challenges that may arise.
- Navigate disclosure: Discuss your concerns and make informed decisions about disclosing your status to others.
- Address discrimination: Get support and advice if you experience stigma or discrimination.
Our counselling services are completely free and confidential.
All of our counsellors are accredited members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or an equivalent professional organisation, adhering to a strict ethical framework, ensuring your confidentiality and safety.
