Melbourn Dog Café

Held once a week and organised by Melbourn Timebank, the Dog Café is two hours of canine fun, chat and coffee. Anyone is welcome to come along – it’s not just for residents of the village, and you don’t even need to bring a dog!

What to expect?

Held in the enclosed pub garden at The Dolphin every Tuesday from 10am to 12noon, all year round, the Melbourn Dog Café is organised by Stephanie Trayhurn, who manages the local Timebank.

There’s plenty of carparking spaces at The Dolphin so you can drive there if you aren’t local, or the Timebank may be able to organise lifts from its volunteers. When you arrive, you go through the pub (to make sure no dogs escape from the garden), and you can order a coffee at the bar or someone from the pub will come and take your order when you sit down. There’s lots of places to sit (some tables and chairs are under cover if it’s raining) but wear warm clothing if it is cold.

Dogs play together off-lead, but need a little supervision just in case they get rowdy. No-one minds if your dog isn’t well behaved, and you don’t have to stay for the entire two hours if it all gets too much for your dog. No need to book ahead, just turn up.

Not everyone who goes to the Café brings a dog, some people just enjoy the canine chaos, chat and coffee!
