Volunteer drivers and escorts to drive minibuses and to help passengers with shopping and on outings

 Wandsworth Community Transport relies heavily on volunteers, who drive the minibuses, help people do their shopping, or help out in the office. We also offer work experience placements to people on the New Deal and other government schemes. We offer our volunteers a wide range of training opportunities, which include the MiDAS driver assessment, wheelchair training, disability awareness, and the use of office computer systems.

 In 2004, we were awarded the coveted ‘Investors in Volunteers’ accreditation. Investing in Volunteers is an award made to organisations which achieve a given standard of good practice in the management of their volunteers.
