Bicycle Maintenance Course - Bikespace

Bikespace are offering places on the "Basic and Trailside Maintenance Course" which is accredited by Cycling UK.

On this Basic Maintenance Course, you will learn:

Personal safety, tool and chemical handling
Correct use of tools and lubricants 
Degreasing, cleaning and lubrication
Pre-ride equipment checks
Brakes - cable adjustment and pad/block adjustment and replacement - for caliper, V-brake and disc brakes
Gears - indexing, cable adjustment, limit adjustment
Transmission - chain repair and replacement
Headset adjustment
Wheels - punctures, tyre repair
Emergency repairs - dealing with what can go wrong during a ride

If you live, work or study in Plymouth you are eligible for a place on one of the forthcoming courses FREE OF Charge. These places are facilitated by Plymouth City Council's Plymotion Project which is funded by the DfT.


We usually run one course per month and places are limited. Please check upcoming dates and availability via our webiste or Eventbright page. (if there are no upcoming dates displayed, we may already be full - if so, please email us and we can add you to a waiting list)
