Muncaster Community Shed

Coming Soon in Summer/ Autumn 2022

Age UK West Cumbria in partnership with Muncaster Estate have developed a community shed space for older people to come together and express themselves through hands on activity. This will include basic carpentry, upcycling, restoration and gardening. The unique location of the shed within the grounds of Muncaster Castle also offers attendees the opportunity to get involved in other volunteering activities involving heritage and nature.

The project is about overcoming barriers that bring about loneliness and inactivity in later life. Over time, the project will widen to include crossovers with other groups and age brackets.

Contact the shed coordinator Tom for more information.

Spaces for both members and project volunteers are available.

Help with transport can be arranged

Delivered with funding support from The Holroyd Foundation, Copeland Community Fund and the Order of St Joachim.
