Community Art School

In September 2022 we are starting an Art School at Little Ilford Baptist Church, Sheringham Avenue, Manor Park, E12 5PA for adult artists who have learning disabilities.

We will help artists to develop their own work and will run exhibitions.

It has been partly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

The art school will run in 6 week terms and there will be 7 terms per year. It costs £5 per session (£30 per term) in order to cover costs of the art supplies.

The Art School will run in 6-week terms. There will be 7 terms per year*. We will run the art school for two years (and hopefully longer!).

Artists will need to pay before the term begins, via bank transfer, cash or cheque. Please let us know how you’d like to pay. We will provide a receipt.

If artists would like to cancel a term, we will need 4 weeks’ notice before the term is due to start.

Artists can choose to book as many terms in the year as they would like to.

The Art School will be on a Wednesday (2pm-5pm) and a Saturday (10am-1pm).

Artists can choose to come on a Wednesday OR a Saturday, they cannot come to both. This is so as many artists as possible can come to the art school. We can have 15 artists per session.

We have an Art Tutor, an Art Facilitator and Volunteers who are trained and can help artists develop their own portfolio of work.

We cannot help with personal care or provide 1:1 support. If artists need this help, they will need to bring a carer with them (carer is free of charge).
