Rutland Refill Community Interest Company

Located in the beautiful surroundings of Oakham town centre, Rutland Refill CIC is the only zero waste community shop and online click & collect in Rutland. It is a small community hub offering a variety of services to bring the community together such as weekly Get Togethers with free hot beverages and cake. There are also opportunities to volunteers within the project from learning new skills in the kitchen, to serving customers in the cafe. The community hub also had a dedicated SEND coordinator who is able to provide 1:1 work experience sessions.

We sell most of the items you would expect at a conventional supermarket, including dry food, household products, and toiletries. To further our impact in the future, we are pioneering the growth of zero-waste shopping in the hope to expanding our product range to include fruit and vegetables, orange juice/coffee machines, and chilled milk dispensers. With convenience being key in our busy lifestyles, we continually push the boundaries of what we offer package-free. We believe having the widest product range is extremely important to have the greatest impact on reducing plastic pollution.

Our ethos around zero waste is simple: sell plastic-free products, source as locally as possible, and reduce food waste. We were founded to challenge the food system and its overpackaged supply chain by sourcing in bulk and selling without packaging, as part of our Climate Change Network.

Rutland Refill CIC is also home to a beautiful cafe where can you sit back and relax whilst enjoying some of our fresh, homemade and locally sourced products and delicious cakes. 

Any profits that are not reinvested into Rutland Refill CIC go to local and environmental causes.
