Volunteer Recruitment Fair - Teignmouth & Shaldon

10 Million Brits involved in community action – are you?

One in five adults in the UK has volunteered their time for community-level activities or organisations during the Covid 19 crises: delivering shopping and medicine, offering telephone companionship, stewarding vaccination centres, cooking and delivering meals and so much more.

As Ellie Orton OBE, Chief Executive at NHS Charities Together says, “Volunteering is the lifeblood of our communities... it has really important personal benefits too, from meeting new people to improving your mental health.”

And there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference locally in Teignmouth or Shaldon, where organisations have come together to share their opportunities and the work they do on Friday 9th September from 10.30 to 1.30 at Teignmouth Pavilions.

Organisations range from Shaldon Wildlife Trust, the Alice Cross Centre and Friends of Teignmouth Station to the Heritage Centre and more with opportunities to get involved in many different ways from gardening to finance, social media to driving, packing food to making friends!

So, if you are considering volunteering for the first time in 2022 or are thinking of going back to it, if you have an hour or two to spare a week, or in a month, are experienced or looking for experience please do come along.
